Daikin. A Sensitive Choice
The National Asthma Council Australia and the Asthma & Respiratory Foundation New Zealand have introduced the Sensitive Choice program to help identify products that are better suited for people who suffer from asthma and allergies.
Daikin is proud to be the only air conditioning company authorized to display the Sensitive Choice butterfly symbol on its range of Split System air conditioners and Air Purifiers.
This exclusive acceptance by the two national bodies reflects the advanced technology, innovation and quality of Daikin products. The air purifying technology in Daikin's Split Systems and Air Purifiers helps to provide a cleaner, fresher indoor environment.
With Daikin i-text your mobile is now your remote control
Now you can arrive home to perfect air conditioned comfort simply by using your mobile phone. i-text is the latest advance in Daikin technology that allows you to switch your ducted air conditioning "on" or "off", select your desired temperature or check current settings, all via text message. For your peace of mind, it then texts you back to confirm your instructions have been carried out (subject to GSM coverage).
The i-text adapter can be easily installed into new or most existing Daikin ducted air conditioning systems. This technology then makes it possible to simply send a message from your mobile and control your ducted air conditioner. (The end user is responsible for the SIM card contract with their chosen telecommunications provider.)
Keeping an eye on your air conditioner remotely
When you're out, i-text lets you keep an eye on your Daikin's settings. Especially handy if there is someone left in the house who might not know how to operate your air conditioning unit. Also handy if you've left the house and forgotten whether you've turned it off or not.
Arriving home to a comfortable temperature
Whether it's summer or winter, you can always walk into your home and know the temperature will be perfect. Instead of waiting until you get home to turn the air conditioner on, send a text message from your mobile and your Daikin with i-text will respond instantly.
Instant notification if anything goes wrong
In the unlikely event of a malfunction occurring while you're out, a message will be sent to your mobile displaying an error code. This will allow you to have the problem diagnosed and rectified much quicker.
Daikin scores twice in Italy for reduced environmental impact
Daikin A/C Italy S.p.A. recently won environmental awards for two of Daikin’s residential flagship models: the UX series and Ururu Sarara.
Ururu Sarara wins EcoHitech Award 2007
The EcoHitech Awards, organized by Consorzio Ecoqual’It (an Italian consortium for the promotion and technological development of environmental systems for treatment and recovery), were established in 1994 to focus on industry efforts in the area of reduced environmental impact.
They recognize such efforts in the fields of electronics, electronic systems and information systems, and take account of investments in energy efficiency, the disposal of hazardous substances, recycling and reuse of raw materials, and minimizing environmental impact.
Daikin’s Ururu Sarara won the “Environmental Friendly Product category” for its high energy-efficiency in both heating and cooling modes. The award was presented to Valerio Miotti, Manager of the Marketing Department of Daikin A/C Italy S.p.A. at the 9th edition of the awards ceremony held in Milan on October 29, 2007.
UX multi series wins HVAC&R Technical Innovation Award
The HVAC&R Technical Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Italian HVAC trade journal “Costruire Impianti”. Products released within the last three years are eligible. Daikin won the same award in 2006 for its Ururu Sarara.
In granting the “Most Environmental Friendly Product” award, the judges cited the UX’s energy efficiency in cooling and heating modes, the unit’s titanium apatite photo catalytic air-purifying filter and its quiet operation. The awards ceremony was held on 3 December 2007.
These awards highlight the breadth of Daikin’s effort to reduce its impact on the environment: high energy efficiency, providing clean indoor air to residences, reducing noise pollution, and minimizing waste at the end of the product’s life.

Daikin UX wins best climate control product award in Spain
First NAN Arquitectura y Construcción Awards held in Madrid
At Spain’s first NAN Arquitectura y Construcción Awards, held on 28 November 2007 in Madrid, Daikin’s UX split series was judged the best product in the climate control category.
More than 200 companies with 350 different products competed.
Awards were presented in 11 different categories covering all aspects of architecture and construction. The jury was led by the President of the Higher Council of Spanish Colleges of Architects, and included representatives from Spain’s six largest building corporations. Daikin AC Spain S.A. was on hand to receive the award.
Quiet, efficient total room comfort
The UX uniquely combines the latest in Daikin technology with discrete yet stylish ultra-compact design. It is a split type heat pump using R-410A refrigerant with a remarkably thin, wall mounted indoor unit.
Inverter control reduces start-up times by a third and power consumption by 30% compared to non-inverter systems, while increasing comfort. A silent operation mode reduces indoor sound levels to 22 dB(A) (the level of rustling leaves) and outdoor levels to 43 dB(A) (quieter than a library). The addition of a Titanium Apatite Photo catalytic Air-Purifying Filter makes the series a true total room comfort solution.
Discrete thin design, draft-free operation
The discrete indoor unit is 25% thinner due to a dynamic slide opening system, a high efficiency heat exchanger and innovative small diameter fan. Automatically adjusting vertical and horizontal flaps ensure that cool or warm air is circulated throughout the room.
In Comfort Mode, the automatic air outlet also ensures draft-free operation in summer and winter: hot air is blown downward toward the feet; cool air is directed overhead where it gently settles throughout the room.
The UX also benefits from an advanced user-friendly control system that can sense the absence of movement in the room and increase or decrease the temperature depending on the operation mode, place both the indoor and outdoor unit in quiet mode, automatically adjust fan speed to room demand, and perform many other programmable features for increased efficiency and comfort. The UX is currently available in 2.5 and 3.5 kW split models, and a 5 kW multi split.

Daikin Europe introduces new highly competitive mainstream split wall mounted units
Daikin Europe has launched a new G-series of indoor and outdoor split wall mounted units. Moreover the range has been extended with the 42 class. These improved models better address customer needs by offering increased energy efficiency and user comfort.
Improved energy efficiency is a key characteristic of the new models. EER/COP levels have been increased by around 18%, enabling the models to attain A-labels for all classes. The added function of an energy saving standby mode also improves energy efficiency, because when no people are detected for 20 minutes the air conditioning goes into energy saving mode.
The new units also enhance customer ease of use and comfort. The user-friendly, stylish remote controller has several new features. The new 2-area intelligent eye allows air flow to be sent to the area where no person is detected, preventing airflow from being directed towards people. A weekly timer allows the user to program the unit on a weekly basis. Different combinations of settings are possible for each day of the week, so that users will be able to comfortably adapt the functioning of the unit to their needs and habits.
To ensure uniform air flow, a 3-D air flow function and horizontal auto swing have been added to the already present vertical auto swing.
The new G-series indoor units can also be used in multi applications, and the G-series outdoor units are easily combined with most Daikin indoor units.
